This presentation offers an introduction to substance use disorders (SUD), understanding the risks of prescription drug misuse, and also covers the important recovery topic of stigma reduction. This class will help create a better understanding of SUD effects and encourage evidence-based interventions of those suffering from an SUD. This class plays an important role in helping to conquer the scourge of addiction in local communities.
About the Presenter: Carlos Rivera is a community education coordinator with Families Against Narcotics. He has over a decade of experience working in substance use treatment and prevention in a variety of settings and capacities. Carlos has a passion for helping people struggling with SUD and understands the importance of prevention education to stop the problem before it starts. In his free time, Carlos likes to spend time and connect with his family, watch movies and cook.
